M. Bumpass Fowler was born in North Carolina, a child of Ransom
Fowler. In 1853 he married Indiana Hunt in North Carolina. He enlisted in Captains
Hall’s Company on march 4, 1862. A document
records him as being 5 foot 8 inches tall, with gray hair, and a fair
complexion. It is reported that he died while at home on November 18, 1862.
