Lieutenant Brindley was a member of Company B of Russell’s 4th Alabama Calvary. He was captured at Shelbyville Tennessee on June 27, `863. He was sent to Nashville, Louisville, Kentucky, Johnson Island, and Pt. Lookout, Maryland as a prisoner of war. On March 10, 1864 he was exchanged and then there was not another record.

Pvt Brindley was detailed as a nurse at the General Hospital at Mt. Jackson, Virginina November 29, 1861. He died January 12, 1862 of dysentery at the hospital at Mt. Jackson.
