Isaac R Sewell was a member of Company F of the 13th Georgia Calvary Battalion. He was captured in Jefferson County Tennessee on October 28, 1864. He was sent to Louisville, Kentucky and then on to Camp Chase, Illinois. He was discharged in the summer of 1865. Creel enlisted June 16, 1862 in Carrollton, Georgia as a private in Capt. L.jz. Smith’s Company of Claiborne’s Regiment of Partisan Rangers. This regiment became the 7th regiment of Confederate Calvary. After enlisting he served detached duty at Ealy’s Ford. In February of 1863 it is reported that he did not have a horse.  He served with the regiment until June 1864 when he was detailed to guard grazing horses. He was absent and reported as a deserter on April 23, 1864. At this  time the regiment was located in Petersburg, Virginia. His name appears on an October 21, 1864 roll of Rebel Deserters who have taken the Amnesty Oath in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
