Private Johnston enlisted in Capotain Malones company on was admitted to Chimborazo Hospital Number 5 on September 12, 1862 with diarrhea and died four days later. One record has the date of death as the 15th of May and another has it as the 16th. His father, Thomas Johnston of Coffee County appeared in Probate Court of Pike County to make a claim as to Thomas’ arrears of pay.

Flowers Brothers: Luke, William, and Silas Flowers were sons of John Calvin Flowers. All three boys were living with their mother Nancy on 1200 acres in 1860.

Isham enlisted in July of 1861. He died of pneumonia on November 26, 1861 in Centerville, Virginia.

William was captured at the surrender of Vicksburg in 1863. He was paroled July 9 and at some point he rejoined his regiment. He was in the line in June of 1864 in the defense of Atlanta. It is reported in a report of the Adjutant and Inspector Generals office that he was killed in battle on August 11, 1864. There was not a general engagement on this date. General Alexander P. Stewart reports that the division (the 37th was in Alpheus Brigade of Stewarts Division) was in line from the Marietta Road to west of Lick Skillet Road and nothing major happened except for constant skirmishing. Perhaps William was killed in the daily pot shots or daily probes that occur along a siege line.
