James T. Hardin has a non-military headstone. His grave was marked with a Confederate flag on July 31, 2021.

His wife Margaret E. Harbin applied for a military pension in 1904. She stated that he served in Company D of the 14th Regiment on the pension application. Brother William died in service in 1863. I could not find service records.

Joseph was sick with rubeola at the Floyd House and Ocmulgee Hospitals in Macon in July of 1864. It is assumed that his disease proved fatal for young Joseph.
