Isaac R Sewell was a member of Company F of the 13
th
Georgia Calvary Battalion. He was captured in Jefferson County Tennessee on
October 28, 1864. He was sent to Louisville, Kentucky and then on to Camp
Chase, Illinois. He was discharged in the summer of 1865.

Creel enlisted June 16, 1862 in Carrollton, Georgia as a
private in Capt. L.jz. Smith’s Company of Claiborne’s Regiment of Partisan
Rangers. This regiment became the 7
th regiment of Confederate
Calvary. After enlisting he served detached duty at Ealy’s Ford. In February of
1863 it is reported that he did not have a horse.
He served with the regiment until June 1864 when he was
detailed to guard grazing horses. He was absent and reported as a deserter on
April 23, 1864. At this
time the
regiment was located in Petersburg, Virginia. His name appears on an October
21, 1864 roll of Rebel Deserters who have taken the Amnesty Oath in
Chattanooga, Tennessee.

When he applied for pension
he stated that he was wounded in the back at Petersburg, captured and sent to
