Benjamin is identified  member of Company C, 32nd Alabama Infantry on his Find A Grave Memorial. The 32nd was made upon of companies from the southern part of Alabama. The Benjamin Phillips of the 32nd Alabama enlisted in Company C in Mobile.  The Ben Phillips buried here was living in Jackson County in 1860. His family is from Jackson County.

John B. Evans served in the 4th Tennessee Calvary. This unit became the 8th Tennessee. He was wounded in April of 1863 and again at Chickamauga in September of 1863.

Houck and Rousseau were both members of a calvary unit raised in northern Alabama later in the war by Lemuel Green Mead.  This unit was known as the 25th Alabama Calvary Battalion.

Unknown Confederate Solider


This marker is located beside the grave of E.J. Kilpatrick. Kilpatrick has a Federal style marker. According to his marker Kilpatrick served in Company A of the 1st Alabama Vid Calvary. This unit is also known as the 1st Alabama & Tennessee Vidette Calvary. It was made up of men from DeKalb, Marshall and Jackson Counties and organized in Bridgeport Alabama in September 1863. Later companies from Tennessee were added.
