This is not a VA Confederate tombstone. Ignatious Sims was a member of Company G of the 42nd Alabama Infantry. He was captured and paroled twice during the war. Likely at Corinth and at Vicksburg. He served to the end of the war.

James B. Henderson - CSA Flag

1829-1898


Henderson was a member of Company D of the 10th Alabama Infantry. He enlisted in 1861 and was elected 2nd lieutenant. Over the course of the war he spent several stretches of time sick in hospitals. He also was detailed as a hospital steward in Richmond at one time. He was palled as a private in Virginia in 1865.

This is a survey of Pippen Family Cemetery in Jones County, Georgia using the Find A Grave memorial page for the cemetery. The cemetery page contains 3 memorials. There are no photographs. 


Description of Cemetery: Small family cemetery has only one marked grave; however, there is one stone pile mausoleum and markers and other evidence many other graves. Located on private property (Watts) you have to have permission to view it. The property is near the Jarrell Plantation. Dist. 12 Land Lot 183 (Find A Grave Memorial 2505008)

Albert enlisted in Company K of the 42nd Alabama Infantry in Aberdeen, Mississippi on May 13, 1862.  After the Battle of Corinth he was reported as missing. He was paroled on October 13 by Union troops in Bolivar, Tennessee. No other records were found.
