From a cursory search it appears that Burnett enlisted in an independent cavalry company in Carrollton Georgia in 1862. In October of 1862 the 7th Cavalry Regiment was formed by consolidating the 4th North Carolina Battalion Partisan Rangers and seven independent Georgia cavalry companies. This unit was known as Claiborne’s Partisan Rangers.  This unit disbanded in 1864. Wesley B. Burnett ended the war at Appomattox with the 7^th Georgia Infantry.

Private Lambert enlisted at Camp McDonald on March 10, 1862. He was captured at Vicksburg when left at a hospital. There are no Lamberts on the role of Company B of the 55^th Alabama. However the next three Lamberts in Company B of the 55^th Alabama do appear on the rolls of Company B 5^th Alabama Battalion.  Seth Lambert does not show up on any 5^th Alabama Battalion roll. This company was raised in Calhoun County, Alabama.

They will be recorded with the inscription on the stones in Hebron Cemetery.

Private Lambert enlisted in Captain Bush’s Calhoun County (Alabama) Sharpshooters on August 19, 1861.  This would become Company B of the 5^th Alabama Infantry Battalion.

He appears as missing in action muster rolls after Gettysburg. Union records indicate that he was captured at Gettysburg on July 3, 1863. He is detained at Fort McHenry, Maryland and eventually sent to Fort Delaware.  He died of chronic diarrhea only October 6, 1863. He enlisted in Captain Bush’s Calhoun Sharpshooters at age 25 in 1862.  In June he was reported sick in a Richmond, Virginia hospital.
